What types of experiences does Goodera offer?

Goodera supports teams through every stage of the process by coordinating with nonprofit partners, managing setup and facilitation, and ensuring smooth execution from start to finish. The type of experience you choose determines how and where your employees participate.

Volunteering formats

In-office activities

Bring impact into the workday. Creative, accessible experiences set up in conference rooms or common areas — assembling learning kits, writing letters to seniors, or packing care packages. Perfect for team days and town halls.

Outdoor volunteering

Get employees out into their communities — environmental cleanups, tree planting, park revitalizations, and mural paintings. Collaboration through shared physical activity with immediate, visible results.

Skills-based volunteering

Employees use professional expertise to help nonprofits build capacity — mentoring youth, marketing insights, or strategy sessions. Structured to deliver long-term value while giving employees purpose tied to their skills.

Pop-up kiosk experiences

Self-led, scalable experiences that make volunteering accessible anytime. Set up in offices or events, employees drop in to assemble impact kits or write notes of encouragement. Ideal for large, distributed teams.

Volunteering use cases

Volunteering with children & family

Family-inclusive volunteering — assembling learning kits, decorating cards, packing care bundles. Strengthens community bonds and creates shared memories beyond the workplace.

Team meetings

Add a 15–45 minute impact activity to all-hands, kickoffs, or retreats. Breaks the monotony, energizes the group, and reinforces shared values without disrupting flow.

Responding to disaster

Mobilize quickly with ready-to-deploy experiences — assembling relief kits, virtual fundraisers, or awareness sessions hosted by impacted nonprofits. Channels employee emotion into collective action.

Day / week / month of service

Unify employees across locations under a shared purpose with scalable programming and global nonprofit partnerships across all formats — a cohesive, branded impact experience.

Onboarding new employees

A short impact activity introduces new hires to company culture, reinforces purpose-driven values, and sparks early peer relationships — turning onboarding into a meaningful start.

Connecting remote employees

Virtual sessions guided by Goodera hosts create shared moments of impact wherever employees are — storytelling, remote kits, or skills contributions that foster connection and belonging.

How to choose my experience

Selecting the right volunteering experience helps ensure your event meets both your team's objectives and your organization's impact goals. Here's how to find the best fit.

1

Identify your goal

Define what you want the experience to achieve — stronger connections, professional skills, family involvement, or alignment with a social or environmental cause.

2

Decide on the format

Virtual for distributed teams, in-person when employees can gather, and hybrid for both on-site and remote participants in one shared experience.

3

Match the experience with your audience

Smaller teams prefer interactive or skills-based sessions; larger groups benefit from scalable kiosks or in-office activities; leadership teams may choose strategic or mentorship engagements.

4

Use Goodera's filters to shortlist

Filter experiences by cause, duration, and format in your dashboard — from short sessions for meetings to day-long service-day programs.

5

Contact your Account Manager

Your Goodera Account Manager can recommend experiences based on team size, causes, regions, and past participation, and help with scheduling and customization.

Planning your annual impact calendar? Browse experiences by theme, cause, or event type — each includes duration, ideal team size, format, and required preparation.

Planning a volunteering program

A thoughtful program helps teams engage with meaningful causes year-round in a structured, repeatable way — build an annual plan, choose causes, align with observances, partner with nonprofits, communicate goals, and set up a calendar that's easy to manage.

Build your annual volunteering calendar

  • Start with company goals — engagement targets, cultural moments, DEI commitments, sustainability goals, or milestones.
  • Map key moments — global observances, internal events, and annual traditions become natural anchors.
  • Balance formats and group sizes — mix small team events with service days; include virtual, in-person, in-office, and kiosk options.
  • Check operational feasibility — budgets, holidays, blackout dates, leadership availability, and comms timelines.
  • Publish the calendar early so teams can plan ahead and participation stays high.

How to select causes

  • Connect with your mission — reflect brand purpose, DEI priorities, or sustainability commitments.
  • Survey employees — employee-driven choices drive higher participation.
  • Build a balanced portfolio — humanitarian, educational, health, environmental, and inclusion causes.
  • Use local relevance — match global causes with local needs so regional teams feel represented.

Common causes supported by Goodera

Education · Environment · Hunger relief · Gender equality · Disability inclusion · Mental health · Animal welfare · Senior support · Emergency & disaster relief · Health & wellness · LGBTQ+ inclusion · Veterans & military families · Refugee support · Homelessness prevention

Align events with global observances

Observances create predictable moments for high participation. Examples include:

Plan events one to two months before the observance to allow for availability, internal comms, and nonprofit coordination.

Align nonprofit partners

  • Match nonprofits to your causes so the mission connects to your intended impact.
  • Verify credibility and readiness — transparent operations and ability to handle your size and format.
  • Balance local and global — local partners for on-site, global organizations for virtual or large-scale.
  • Create recurring partnerships to build trust and deeper impact over time.

Goodera manages nonprofit vetting, coordination, and readiness — share your requirements and we find the match.

Set goals & communicate internally

Set goals for participation rates, hours volunteered, causes supported, events per region, and impact outcomes. Then communicate with a launch message, leadership involvement, clear event announcements, reminders and nudges, and post-event impact storytelling.

Start large-scale events three months ahead, secure partners early, include diverse formats, and keep one quarterly slot flexible for reactive moments. Goodera can help with all of the above within two working weeks.

How Goodera runs an event for you

Goodera manages every stage of your volunteering experience so your team can focus on participating — before, during, and after the event.

Pre-event: planning & setup

Goodera does

  • Understands objectives, team size, and causes
  • Shortlists experiences and finalizes the plan

Your team does

  • Reviews and approves the final experience
  • Shares headcount, timing, and location details

During the event: facilitation & engagement

A trained Goodera host facilitates the session, introduces the cause and nonprofit, guides the team step by step, troubleshoots logistics, and keeps the event on schedule. Your team joins on time, participates, and keeps cameras on or assigns group leads for virtual sessions.

Post-event: impact & reporting

Goodera compiles photos, videos, and impact metrics, captures quotes and feedback, and sends a complete impact report with ready-to-use thank-you notes and social captions. Your team shares the recap, provides feedback, and confirms next steps.
