About
Goodera’s Volunteering Quotient (VQ) Report 2025 offers a data-backed snapshot of corporate volunteering globally, analyzing ESG and annual reports from 222 companies across sectors. The report highlights how volunteering is evolving into a core element of corporate purpose and employee engagement, drawing insights from industries including Financials, Technology, Healthcare, Energy, Consumer Goods, and more.
Key volunteering trends revealed in the report:
- Workforce Participation Rates: The median participation across companies stands at 22.2%, with the top quartile reaching 37.5%. Mid-sized companies (5,000–10,000 employees) reported the highest engagement at nearly 30%, while smaller companies followed closely at 27.8%.
- Average Volunteering Hours: Volunteers contributed a median of 7.2 hours annually, an increase from 6.8 hours the previous year. Larger companies (50K+ FTEs) saw the highest hours per volunteer despite lower participation rates, showing deeper individual commitment.
- Regional Participation: India leads with the highest average volunteers per event (65), followed by APAC (35) and North America (31). Q2 and Q4 were the most active quarters, aligning with major campaigns like Earth Day and Season of Giving.
Enabler Impact: Companies that adopted enablers such as VTO, Flagship Campaigns, and Dollars for Doers saw up to 1.9x higher participation. Combining enablers (e.g., VTO + platforms) proved especially effective in boosting engagement.
