Educating Youth for a Greener Tomorrow
With gamified kits and 200 motivated IBM volunteers, students in Campos do Jordão and Santa Clara discovered that tackling climate change can be fun, empowering, and impactful.
The Essence
This initiative focused on climate education, creativity, and empowering young voices to champion sustainability.
IBM volunteers partnered with Passatempo Educativo to co-create Climate Action resources for public school students in Campos do Jordão and the Santa Clara social institution. Alongside gamified activities about the UN 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), students were inspired to take practical steps in their schools and communities to combat climate change.
Problem
Many students lack accessible, engaging resources to understand climate change and the global goals. Without early exposure, it becomes harder to nurture future leaders who can act decisively for a sustainable world.
Solution
IBM volunteers worked hand-in-hand with Passatempo Educativo to design gamified learning tools and Climate Action Kits. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, and interactive lessons, students were introduced to the challenges of climate change and the solutions outlined in the 2030 Agenda.
