A note from our founder

What does engineering have to do with volunteering? I’ve spent a decade answering that question. When people volunteer, walls come down, communities are strengthened, and a chain reaction of positive impact begins. It’s not linear impact, it’s exponential. As an engineer, I wanted to understand how this experience could be measured and scaled.

For too long, volunteering has been limited and cumbersome, overly-dependent on the motivation of a passionate few, and too often a burden for nonprofits with limited resources to coordinate. Everything else in our modern life was so simple and frictionless—why not this?

I founded Goodera to harness the power of human goodness and propel employee volunteering into the 21st century, using innovation to expand reach, and data to measure the outcomes. The backbone of our unmatched global infrastructure is technology, allowing us to have a worldwide presence while keeping a hyperlocal focus. By doing so, we’ve enabled literally millions more people to volunteer by making it accessible, engaging, and impactful.

I believe the world is hungry for connection and purpose. People want to do good, but often don't know where to begin. Volunteering is an important way to connect with others while creating impact for communities, and with Goodera, we’re making it a way of life.

Founder and CEO

Abhishek has spent more than a decade building enterprises focused on social and environmental impact. Goodera aims to be the Airbnb of employee volunteering by engaging every workplace with volunteering experiences. Featured twice in the Forbes 30 under 30, and the MIT Innovators under 35 list, Abhishek is a leading voice in India’s startup ecosystem for building a global business from Indian roots.

Sriram Shankar

Co-Founder and coo

Sriram Shankar is an experienced leader with a track record of building organizations that solve large scale problems leveraging technology led solutions. Sriram's passion lies in nurturing high-performing teams and working on building organizational capabilities to create lasting impact.

Sriram has nearly two decades of expertise in consulting, strategic planning, business operations, and growth. He has held key roles at renowned organizations like GE and has been part of early stage teams at trend setting startups such as Digit Insurance and Myntra. Sriram co-founded Findeed, a financial services platform that enabled access to credit for more than 125,000 underserved individuals.

Sumit Agarwal

Chief Financial Officer

Sumit is a seasoned finance leader with over two decades of experience in building and scaling high-growth businesses. His expertise spans corporate finance, fundraising, investor relations, and business transformation, with a consistent focus on enabling sustainable growth.

A Chartered Accountant and All-India Rank holder, Sumit has worked across technology, fintech, and digital commerce, leading large teams and driving financial excellence. At Goodera, he heads the global finance function, steering strategy and growth as the company expands its impact in employee volunteering worldwide. Outside of work, he is passionate about health, finance trends, and traveling.
